Today's music
The other night I went to a concert in Detroit for one of my favorite bands the Gin Blossoms. They have a new record coming out sometime this year. It peeves me off that even when their new record comes out very few main stream radio stations will even play their music. It seems that most music today is Rap and crappy pop music. Bands that were popular in the 90's get no respect on the radio. The band LIVE put out a great album back in 2003, one of their best since their break through album, but not a single radio station played any of the singles from it. Same with the Counting Crows in 2002. VH1 and MTV used to play their videos all the time back in 1993-94 when "August and Everything After" came out. "Mr. Jones" was all over the radio and TV. The song they did for Shrek got some airplay, but not much. It just irks me that the music I like and the groups that I enjoy get no airplay on the radio. You never even really hear anything about them either unless you go to the band's website. I've signed up for e-newsletters from my favorite bands and singers just so I can know whats going on. I guess I'm just getting old since I really don't care for any of the new music that is played on the radio or TV. Its funny because one of the newer albums I bought I heard the song at the movie theater because they were playing parts of new songs coming out before the previews started. It just really bugs me that there is good music out there, but none of it makes the radio unless its Rap or crappy pop. Oh well. I guess I will be listing to my CDs and thinking of the good old days!
Welcome!
Hello. My name is Yzerbear, well not really, but its the name I go by on the web. This blog is going to be about me, the places I've been and where I'm going. I will most definitely be posting pictures from my digital camera. I got my first digital camera in October 2002. It was an Olympus D-380. I just recently got a Kodak Easyshare Cx 7430 before my trip to Orlando, FL. I've been very impressed with the quality of the pictures. So stay tuned.
Who is Yzerbear?

Well, Yzerbear is actually a little red beanie bear. Here Yzerbear (on the left) is with some friends on the most recent adventure. Yzerbear got his name because he is a beanie bear produced by the Salvino company which represented different players from different teams and sports. My bear is representing the Detroit Red Wings player, Steve Yzerman. On the back it has Steve Yzerman's last name and #19. On the front it has Steve and a "C" to respresent that he is the captain of the team. On each arm is the #19. Since my bear needed a name, I came up with YzerBEAR. Replacing the MAN in Yzerman's name with the word BEAR since it was a bear. Since I purchased him in July 1999 he has traveled all over with me. Its a strange thing that my sister and I do, but we take pictures of them in the places we travel. Her bear, known as ShannyBear, is on the right. He was purchased in May 1999. He is representing Red Wings player Brendan Shanahan. In that picture with them is Benny who joined the others when we purchased him in JUly 2000 in Toronto, Ontario. Frankie is the cute little pug in the picture. He was purchased at Universal Studios in Orlando. My sister and I use the names of the bears as our online names and they since have sort of become our nicknames to family and friends. We both love bears and have since started collecting bears and other animals from the places we visit. Here are some of the places that Yzerbear and ShannyBear have gone.
