Britt Girl!!!

I'm so excited! I was accepted to be part of Britt's Creative Team!!! I've never done this before, so its unchartered territory! I'm thrilled though! I have been so excited since I found out, but had to keep it a secret, which was sooooo hard. I'm just shocked that I was picked.

Britt's designs are A-MAY-ZING!!!! Her kits are absolutely fabulous! My favorite kit is Dreams Come True. I find myself using her kits over and over and over and not just for the Disney layouts. They are so versatile.

Check out Brittish Designs

I can't wait to show you all what I have been busy working on. :)

Layouts and layouts and more layouts!

Yesterday I went with my sister to see "The Dark Knight." This was my second viewing and her fourth. My brother went on Friday for his fourth time, so him and my sister are currently tied. Though he emailed me earlier that he wasn't sure if he would go again, so I'm sure my sister will easily beat him. I believe she has plans to go tomorrow. Though I am impressed that my brother went four times, since he rarely will go more than once.

Today I got up early to go to Michaels to get the Pooh font Cricut cartridge since they were going on sale. Surprisingly there was only one other person there when they opened. Then I came home and got two paper layouts done. I finally got to use my Sure Cuts A Lot. I'm totally in love with it!!! I still have to do the journaling, but will post it after I get that done.

Now on to the new digital layouts. YAY! I've been busy! :)

How far we've come - The inspiration for this one is from the Matchbox 20 song "How Far We've Come." I wanted to do a layout showing how far it was from MI to CA for our Disneyland trip. I couldn't find any maps that weren't all pixelated. I did find some photos of the state outlines and used those to cut out the states from "paper." The fairy trail doesn't really point to either location since that would have gotten too complicated. The photos from MI to CA are: Our plane at the gate in Detroit, Flying over the Rockies, Flying over the Grand Canyon, and Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland.

I *heart* Eeyore - I love Eeyore! He is my second favorite Disney character. I didn't want to use gray for this one, so instead opted to use pink like Eeyore's bow on his tail and from my shirt.

My first trip to the world - For the Saturday special at Scrap Matters the challenge was to scrap a special occasion, anniversary, birthday, etc. I choose my first trip to Walt Disney World. I don't really remember it because I was so little, but my Mom has told me I had fun. I got to ride Pirates! They even let my 2 month old sister ride pirates! LOL My parents started us young! ;)

Around and around and around . . . - The Tea Cups are one of my favorite rides. I could ride it all day! Of course my sister is a party pooper and hates to spin fast. Though at DL we rode in seperate tea cups so I could spin super fast and she could just sit there and try not to vomit. These photos are from the 2007 WDW trip.

A Princess, A Beast, and a Pirate!

Beauty and the Beast (EPCOT) - My sister and I with Belle and Beast at EPCOT. Beast was going to go back inside soon, but we were among the lucky ones to see him before he left.

Captain Jack - For the Tuesday Template challenge at Scrap Matters. You were to incorporate a quote from a book or movie. I had a difficult time picking just one quote from one movie or book. I finally decided on a quote from "Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl." I LOVE the Pirate movies, though I will say that I prefer Will, but Jack is good too. :)

YAY! Tomorrow is Friday! Looking forward to the weekend. I have a million layouts for my paper Disneyland book I want to work on since my Sure Cuts A Lot (SCAL) arrived earlier this week. I've played with it some, but haven't actually cut anything yet. Of course I have to go see the Dark Knight again with my sister, but its such an awesome movie and worth seeing multipile times. So far her and my brother are still tied in their contest of who can see it the most.

That is all for now! Night!

The Magic of the Night

Here is the layout I did for this week's challenge at the DISboards. The challenge was to scrap Disney after dark. I don't have a whole lot of photos of the dark because my camera doesn't take good night photos. I did find one that I took and one of the Photopass photos.

The Magic of the Night - On my sister's birthday we were waiting for our dinner reservations and found a Photopass photographer and got a photo with the castle all light up in the different colors. It changes from blue to purple to pink to several other colors I think. Very pretty! I love this photo of the castle. I thought the layout came out really cute.

An update on the contest of who could see Dark Knight the most: My brother has gone 3 times. My sister went again today for her 3rd time. So right now they are tied. My brother claims he is going again on Friday. I'm supposed to go with my sister on Saturday. Which would leave them tied. I think she said something about Monday. Overall I find this contest to be quite entertaining and funny.

That is all for now. Later!

Speed Scrappin!

Here is my layout from tonight's Speed Scrap at Scrap Matters.

Dream - When my sister and I went to Camp Minnie-Mickey at Animal Kingdom in 2007 we were selected as the Campers of the Day and given special time with Mickey, Goofy, and Donald. It was soooo much fun. I'll probably make this into a two page layout so I can have more room to write about it. Plus I have more photos of Donald being a complete ham for the camera!!!

New layouts . . . finally!

OK, I'm finally getting to posting those new layouts. LOL. :-) But first an update on the rest of my weekend. My sister had yesterday off so I had told her we were going ot spend all day scrapping. She had been whining for weeks that I was way far ahead her in scrapping my Disneyland book. So 2 weeks ago I ordered 300 pictures for from Shutterfly so she would stop whining. Well Saturday after we talked to our brother she wanted to go see Batman again. Oy. I want to see it again, just didn't want to go right away. So I had to remind her that she spend weeks whining that she couldn't scrapbook because she didn't have any pictures. So I said no to seeing Batman again. We did end up scrapping, though we got a bit of a late start. We had to relocate our work space to the living room for more room. Our scraproom is quite small and its difficult for both of us to work at once. And we had to get some snacks and food for lunch before we got started. Once we got started we both made some good progress. I got 7 pages done in my DL book. I just have to put the journaling on them. I think she got 6-8 done, but didn't add any titles to hers. So it was a successful day of scrapping.

Now onto the digital layouts.

It's a Small World (Disneyland, 1969) - For the Tuesday template challenge at ScrapMatters. I used my mom's photos of her favorite ride, It's a Small World at Disneyland.

Wait - For the Speed Scrap at ScrapMatters from last week. This is my sister and I at the Crystal Palace at Walt Disney world on her birthday in 2007. She was so sad that Eeyore didn't stop the first time around because I wasn't at the table. We had to wait probably an hour until he got back to us, but when he did the waitress brought out the cake I had ordered. Eeyore was clapping and cheering and sooooo cute. It turned out better this way. :) It is such a special memory. The best things do come to those who wait.

Tomorrow there are not one, but 2 speed scraps at Scrap Matters tomorrow! Not sure if I can make both, but am going to try. They are highly addictive!!! That is all for now. I have to go play with my brand new toy: Sure Cuts A Lot!!! I am already in love with this program and I haven't even cut anything with it yet. It is way easier to use than the Cricut software. Its awesome!

Dark Knight contest

I forgot to put this in my post the other day about the Dark Knight. My sister is a HUGE Christian Bale fan and LOVES Batman. Well when my brother came up at 4th of July him and her sort of challenged each other to see who could see the movie the most. My sister went to the first show on Friday and then again on Saturday. After we got back on Saturday I called my brother to see if he had seen it yet. My sister wasn't too worried because he rarely will see a movie more than once. Turns out he saw it twice on Friday and had a ticket to see it at the IMAX near him. LOL So he is ahead of my sister!!! LOL Its too funny!!! I laughed so hard. So now she vows to go twice on her day off to see it to get ahead of him. I find it all deeply amusing!!! I have no doubt in the end my sister will win, but its fun that he is actually challenging her.

Will try to post layouts later. Had to post that before I forgot again.

The Dark Knight

WOW!!!! This movie is AWESOME!!! My sister and I met up with our oldest brother to go see this tonight. WOW! WOW! WOW! It was unbelievable. Just sooooo good. It was bittersweet to see the Joker. Heath was AMAZING!!! Just sad that he is dead. It didn't feel like 2.5 hours. I really liked it and look forward to seeing it again.

I have a few layouts to post, but will post those later since its almost time for bed.

So go see The Dark Knight!!! :-)

Wedding Layout

On Saturday one of my younger cousins got married. My sister and I only went to the reception. It was a nice reception. Always nice to see my family. I blurred their faces for privacy and removed their last name. The color of the bridesmaids dresses were the same shade of blue as the circle with the names/date. Very pretty shade of blue.

I didn't get much other scrapbooking done this weekend. On Saturday my sister and I went to the Center for the Arts to see an exhibit on carousel horses. It was interesting, though it was sad to see the ones that were broken and cracked and in bad shape. The best part of the visit was that the video with our Grandpa was still there. My Grandpa died when I was 6 so whenever we would go to see a play with our Grandma and Uncle we would always watch the video about the pendulum because it had my Grandpa. My sister and I were happy to see that it was still there.

After that we had to do some shopping before going home to get ready for the reception. On Sunday I was uninspired and didn't get any layouts done except the wedding one. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

That is all for now. Later!

Lots of layouts!

Last weekend's trip to Battle Creek and Kalamazoo was tons of fun! The airshow was AWESOME!!! The Thunderbirds were amazing! There wasn't a cloud in the sky so they got to the high show, which is always a treat to see. The rest of the show was also really good. The Air Zoo in Kalamazoo was fun. I love the balloon ride there. :)

Onto the layouts!

Winnie the Pooh through the years - I had this great photo of Pooh from my mom's trip to Disneyland in 1969, but wasn't sure what to do with it until I thought of putting it with one of ours from our April trip. I must say that I like Pooh much better now!

Oh and I almost forgot! We have finally set a date for a weekend getaway to Chicago!!! YAY! I haven't been to Chicago since January. I'm having withdrawals! LOL I'm looking forward to it. I *LOVE* Chicago!!

Take care! Have a great weekend!

Happy Birthday America!!!

Happy 232nd Birthday America!!! Happy 4th of July!!! Of course someone in the neighborhood has been setting off fireworks all night long. Ugh. It sounds like they finally stopped trying to blow up the neighborhood. Tomorrow I think there is just going to be a small gathering at my parent's house. I think they might be grilling, not quite sure. My one brother is coming up from Detroit, so it will be nice to see him. Then early on Saturday we are leaving for Battle Creek for the air show.

God Bless the USA
Today at work I was listening to the CD I made last year with patriotic music and when "God Bless the USA" came on I was inspired to create a layout. The photos are monuments representing the different wars that America has fought. From top to bottom: Soldiers National Monument in Gettysburg, PA (Civil War), Minute Man Statue in Concord, MA (Revolutionary War), Korean War Memorial in Washington, DC, Vietnam Wall in Washington, DC, and the World War 2 Memorial in Washington, DC.

Lunch with Ariel
I couldn't wait to use new freebie from Brittish Designs! I decided to use our picture with Ariel from Ariel's Grotto at California Adventure. Its a bit funkier than most of my layouts, but I think it turned out cute. I used the BW photo since the colors in it wouldn't have gone with the purple and i really wanted to use the purple. I love this new kit!

Several new layouts

Wow! I haven't updated this in a few days. I have several new layouts to post. First off is the one I did for the Tuesday Template challenge last week at Scrap Matters. I used it to create a title page for the 2005 section of my Disney book. I used the same template to create ones for my other Disney trips, but don't have those ones uploaded yet.

2005 Orlando Memories

Chip and Dale - This one is for the DIS challenge this week. You had to use one of several character names and I choose Chip and Dale. I like how it came out.

Civil War Remembrance Weekend - This one is for the template challenge this week at Scrap Matters about summer traditions. My sister and I go to Greenfield Village every Memorial Day for Civil War Remembrance weekend. Its lots of fun.

I finished my Eeyore layout for my Disneyland book and it is so cute! Here is a closeup of the one Eeyore I made using the Pooh and Friends Cricut cartridge:

Not sure if I will be able to post again this weekend. My one brother is coming up from Detroit for the weekend. My sister and I are going to Battle Creek with my other brother and his wife for the Air show. The Thunderbirds are going to be there!!! YAY! Hopefully I can get some good pictures. It should be nice weather this weekend, which is good.

Happy 4th of July!!! :) Happy Birthday America!!!
