On New Year's Day I watched part of the "Winter Classic" outdoor hockey game that was between the Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks. They played at Wrigley Field in Chicago. The Wings weren't doing so well in the first period so we turned it off and watched the "Twilight Zone" marathon. During the 2nd and 3rd periods it seemed that everytime we flipped the game on, the Wings would score. They ended up winning 6-4. I'm so glad that the Wings were able to participate in one of these games. We went to the outdoor game back in 2001 dubbed the "Cold War" between U of M and Michigan State. It was fun, but soooooooo cold!!!!
I have lots of layouts to post, so so going to get to it.
Britt released a super cool new kit this week called "Monstrosity." If you purchase it before Friday you get a really cool bonus alpha.

Here is what I scrapped with it:
Welcome to Monstrosity

Trouble Kitty

Last week Britt released a really cool template pack inspired by fellow Britt-girl, Kelsy.

Here is what I scrapped with those:
Field of Destiny

the Straits of Mackinac

Lately I've really been in the mood to scrap my photos from Gettysburg.
Bucktail Brigade - The 149th PA Infantry monument which was part of a unit known as the "Bucktail Brigade" because of the bucktails they wore on their kepis. This was for a Saturday Special challenge at ScrapMatters

History's Muse - The 123rd New York Infantry monument. The figure on the top represents Clio, the muse of history.

Schoolteacher's Regiment - The 151 PA Infantry monument. It got the nickname "Schoolteacher's Regiment" because of all the teachers in the unit.

Pennsylvania State Monument - The PA State Monument is probably the most photographed monument at Gettysburg and also the largest. It was greated to honor all Pennsylvanians who fought at Gettysburg. This was for a Speed Scrap at ScrapMatters

Witness to History - The Lutheran Theological Seminary which played a vital role in the first day of fighting at Gettysburg.

Beauty is all around - This is one of my favorite photographs from Gettysburg. When I saw this tree, I just had to get a photo. There is something beautiful about it to me.

General George S. Meade - General Meade's equestrian statue. This was for the December In Loving Color challenge at ScrapMatters.

A few Chicago layouts:
Capturing U-505 - The U-505 at the Museum of Science and Industry. This was for a roadmap to scrap challenge at ScrapMatters.

Chicago Harbor Lighthouse - The Chicago Harbor Lighthouse from Navy Pier. I take a billion photos of it each time we go to Navy Pier. This was for a Tuesday Template Challenge at ScrapMatters.

Hard Rock Cafe - Photos from dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe last January. This was for a Speed Scrap at ScrapMatters

A few new Disney layouts:
Minnie's California House - Minnie's house at Disneyland. This was for a challenge at the DISboards.

What a wonderful world! - This was for a makeover challenge I hosted at the DISboards. I redid a layout I had previously done for a Speed Scrap. Photos are from our 2007 WDW trip.

Clarice - This was for a challenge at the DISboards to scraplift a layout. I choose to scraplift a really great layout called "Magical Memory" by Heather (snowdrop).

A few family/random layouts
Kirsten: An American Girl - This was for one of Britt's "Everyday Magic" challenge at ScrapMatters. The challenge was to scrap your favorite book. This was such a difficult choice since I have so many favorites, but ended up choosing Kirsten.

- Photos from the Christmas Walk at Dow Gardens. This was from another Speed Scrap at ScraoMatters.

Walking in a Christmas Wonderland - More photos from the Christmas Walk at Dow Gardens.

Oh the weather outside is frightful! - I just had to scrap the horrible snowstorm we had back in December.

All Smiles - A photo of me when I was a baby. This was for a Tuesday Template challenge at ScrapMatters.

Snow, snow go away! - A few weeks ago Britt released a really cute winter themed mini-kit and this is what I scrapped with it.

Cassie's Sweet Spot - This was for another one of Britt's "Everyday Magic" challenges. You will typically find Cassie on top of the computer monitor. It has been a favorite spot of hers since we found her.

Whew! That is all of the new layouts! I hope everyone has a good week! :)
Later,
Melissa
