Forever in our hearts

Right after my Grandma passed away on Monday, I have been working on this photo and finally finished it today. I had it printed off and framed to be displayed at the funeral home. Eventually I will print a copy off for each of my Aunts and Uncle.



Thank you all for your kind wishes and caring messages. It means so much to me! The most amazing thing happened. When my mom was getting some clothes from the closet a pink stuffed pig fell off the top shelf and hit her. My Grandma LOVED pigs. I told my mom it was a sign from my Grandma that she is among the angels.

Disney World Countdown: 9 days!

I just can't wait . . .



I was just finishing breakfast and thought about the wonderful breakfast at Chef Mickey's! I can't wait to eat those super delicious Mickey waffles! YUM!

Disney World Countdown: 10 days!

Mulan is my favorite Disney character. We were lucky last time that we found her and Mushu in China. I'm hoping we will find her again this time.

At 10:30 pm on February 16, 2009 my Grandma passed away at the age of 97. She lived a long and happy life and is with God in heaven. She will be deeply missed. I feel so lucky and blessed to have had her in my life.

Disney World Countdown: 11 days!

I can't wait . . .



When we went in 2007 it was still new and the lines were horribly long so we didn't get to see it. It is one the things I definitely want to see when we go.

Weekend Update

It has been an interesting weekend. Yesterday morning my Mom got a call that my Grandma was having difficulty breathing and her blood pressure was really low. She is almost 98 years old. So my Mom spent most of yesterday at the nursing home with Grandma. She isn't doing well at all. Every time the phone rings I worry that its going to be the call that she is gone. It seems to be just a matter of time. I know when she does pass away that she will be at peace and reunited with my Grandfather.

So the entire weekend was overshadowed with not knowing what was going to happen with my Grandma. Yesterday I had to go to work for a few hours then I got a few groceries before going home. Melinda got home a short time later and we had dinner and watched "Monsters, Inc," "Finding Nemo," and "The Incredibles." Though Melinda fell asleep during the "The Incredibles."

She had today off so we both got up early and made cinnamon rolls and watched "Brother Bear," "Brother Bear 2," "Lady and the Tramp," "Oliver and Company," "101 Dalmations," and are now watching "The Aristocats." Though we took a break from Disney movies to watch "The Amazing Race." The part with the cheese rolling down the hill was hilarious!!! Melinda and I couldn't stop laughing. What an awesome challenge.

On Friday a bunch of the ScrapMatters designers teamed up to release "Twice as Nice" collab kits. Britt was in a group of three and released a "Thrice is Nice" collab kit called "Tiny Dancer." This was the perfect kit to use for my dance photos that I haven't scrapped yet.

Tiny Dancer - These are photos from before my first dance recital.



En pointe - Photos from the first time I danced en pointe. It was such an incredible experience.



Time of my life - For the Tuesday Template challenge at ScrapMatters. Photo is of a pair of my pointe shoes. I had the idea for this layout at like 1:00 am the one night.



Silly Old Bear - For the Saturday Special at ScrapMatters and last week's challenge at the DISboards which was to scrap Pooh and Friends. I used photos of when we met Pooh at MGM Studios in 2007, though I put the wrong date on the layout. I need to fix that.



Amazed - This was for another Tuesday template challenge at ScrapMatters and this week's challenge at the DISboards. Photo is from Animal Kingdom in 2007. We found this really pretty place while walking around the park that was the perfect setting for some photos.



Sweet Dreams - This was for the Speed Scrap the other night at ScrapMatters. Part of the instructions was to use a photo from your most recently downloaded photos. I had a bunch of cute ones of Cassie. And when the instructions said to use something from the sky I thought this photo of her sleeping would be perfect. I love how this one turned out.



Melissa Lynn - On Sundays Britt is hosting this fabulous new challenge at ScrapMatters called "My Story Matters." This week the challenge was to scrap about our name. I jumped right on this challenge and love how it turned out. Though there isn't anything really interesting about how my name was chosen. It was a name my parents liked and my middle name is the same as my Mom's.

Disney World Countdown: 12 days!

I just can't wait for . . .



I have wanting this since our last trip. It is sooooo yummy. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!

Disney World Countdown: 13 days!

13 days to left and I can't wait to . . .



"It's a Small World" was closed when we went to Disneyland, so I can't wait to ride it at Walt Disney World since it is such a classic Disney ride.

TWO WEEKS and counting!!!!

We leave for Walt Disney World in TWO WEEKS!!!! I'm so excited!!! I decided that everyday until we leave, I'm going to post one thing I'm looking forward to. That hopefully will help to motivate me to post more! LOL

I just can't wait . . .

Weekend Wrapup

This weekend FLEW by! I had to go work a few hours at work on Saturday. Then I went and bought a shirt to take with me to Florida and went and picked up lunch for Melinda and I from Charley's. I then met her as she was getting out of work and we ate lunch. It was soooooooooooo good! I love Charley's grilled sandwiches. If you have one near you, I highly recommend giving it a try. After we finished eating we went to Wal-mart to pick up some things for our trip and then went to the grocery store to get a few groceries. Melinda then went to go buy Madagascar 2, which we watched when she got home. The extra DVD that came with it about the Penguins was really cute. It was bascially a preview for the new show coming to Nickolodeon.

This morning I got and began going through all my clothes to find the ones I wan to take with us to Florida. Then I washed everything I wanted to take since some of it hasn't been worn since September. There was an afternoon Speed Scrap today at ScrapMatters, which was totally a blast! Love the instructions and loved my layout, which is posted below. When Melinda got home from work we began our "Disney Movie Marathon." We watched "Enchanted" and "Haunted Mansion." While we were watching "Haunted Mansion" I began packing the things I washed. Melinda thinks I'm a freak for packing, but I know I won't have a lot of time during the week to get things together, so it made sense to pack it now. Of course she will be the one who on the Thursday night before we leave that will be running around looking for things and complaining that the shirt she just has to take isn't clean and no one has washed it. She has never learned that it would solve a lot of problems to do it earlier. We were supposed to watch the "National Treasure" movies, but Melinda didn't want to. Instead we watched the first part of "Kevin Smith: Sold Out - A Threevening with Kevin Smith." HILARIOUS!!! Though definitely worthy of an "R" rating. Hopefully we can finish it tomorrow.

On Friday Britt released a super cute and creative kit called, "Love Bytes."

Sisterly love - Photos of Melinda and I on my second birthday.



A smile as sweet as spring - This was a redo of a previous layout that was pretty, but kind of boring. This has always been Mom's favorite photo of Melinda. It was taken by our cousin Christa at Grandma and Grandpa's house.



For today's Speed Scrap I decided to scrap about our upcoming trip to Walt Disney World. I'm starting to get really excited about this trip!!! I can't wait!!!

I was able to go to the evening Speed Scrap on Thursday night at ScrapMatters and scrapped another one for my Gettysburg book.

For the Glory - The "Soldiers & Sailors of the Confederacy" monument at Gettysburg National Military Park.
